5 Creative Ways to Repurpose Wedding Ceremony Flowers

wedding ceremonyWhen you think about a wedding, what is the first image that comes into your mind besides the bride and the groom? Flowers, right? This is because you usually see tons and tons of flowers in a wedding ceremony and in the reception.

It is fairly common for the bride and sometimes, the groom, to take time out to choose and decide which type of flowers to use for their wedding day whether beautiful red roses, lily of the valley, sweet peas, gardenia, calla lily among many others. And besides deciding which flower to use, they also spend so much time deciding how the arrangement should look like to create additional beauty and elegance to the venue and event.

However, the usual dilemma happens when all the “I dos” have been uttered, the wedding reception is over, guests are already leaving but then the beautifully arranged flowers are still there. What to do with them? It would be total waste to just leave all the flowers behind. Of course, you cannot and should not do that.

Here are some thoughts on how to give new life to those flowers after the wedding day:

Preserve your wedding flowers – if you are the sentimental type then you should consider preserving your wedding flowers. Dried flowers are totally great souvenirs that will forever remind you of your wedding day. Most brides decide to preserve their bouquet but if you wish to preserve some other flowers from your wedding, then you are so very welcome to do so. You may speak to your flower arranger or florist in advance that you are planning to preserve the flowers after the wedding ceremony so they can work on it immediately after the ceremony.

Create Flower Corsage – you may also do some sets of corsage from the flowers in the wedding. Make it a hair accessory, bracelet, brooch or others. You can wear it during your lunch date with your friends and family after the wedding.

Give it as wedding favors – another possible use of these flowers is to distribute them as wedding favors. Shortly after the wedding ceremony, newlywed couples usually send out thank you notes and wedding favors to all their friends and family members who attended the ceremony, those who sent their warm wishes and gifts and all those who helped them make the event possible. So along with a personal note, you can include some beautiful flowers from the wedding. You will feel great repurposing items from your wedding and it is indeed a sweet gesture that they will appreciate.

Send some to your friends and family members – you can also distribute the flowers to your friends, officemates and family members. The flowers are too beautiful to adore it by yourself. So why not share them and send some to the dearest people in your life?

Donate to charities – lastly, you can choose to donate these flowers to charities. You can choose charities or establishments like nursing homes, hospitals, and orphanages. People there would definitely appreciate to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The beauty of flower is enough to make someone’s day beautiful and complete so if you have the opportunity then you should go for it and do it with much gusto and love.  You will feel good afterwards. It could also be a special moment with your significant other – to share your love with others.

These flower repurposing tips are perfect for future brides but also on other special occasions when you may find yourself unsure of what to do with extra floral arrangements.
